Dudes & Dudettes,

In case you haven't heard, my band Homer Hiccolm & the Rocketboys are going to be hosting a Christmas party on Thursday, December 7th, 2006. The Party will include Yuletide Carols by the Rocket boys and their friends, food, fun, and fellowship. The Party will be for the sole purpose of collecting presents for the teens at Henrick Home for Children. So make sure that you bring an awesome present for them. The following is a message from Barbara at HHfC:

Thank you so much for remembering our kids. We have 29 teenage boys and girls. The home provides Christmas for them but, when the community helps out it really helps with our children's self esteem RE: someone other than staff cares for them and is willing to give their resources to/for them.

We have 2 programs here one is "Basic Care" and that has 36 children in that program and those are our children that we take care of 24/7 they for various reasons cannot live with their biological families. We provide everything for them medical/dental clothes everything a "real" family would provide for their own. We even put them thru college. Several have graduated from ACU. We are Christian based non-denominational home. Our children attend the Church of Christ (Southern Hills) and Baptist churches. We also have 8 boys who live at our ranch near Albany Texas.

Our 2nd program is "Family Care" that is where 14 single moms and their (30) children live here on our campus. We provide them a place to live (rent free) as long as they have a goal they want to achieve. Some of our mom's have as many as 5 children living with them from infants to seniors in high school. We help these mothers with the Holiday Season as well as throughout the year. We have a pantry they can shop in for food, personal hygiene products and school supplies. We also have a donation room with toys, clothing, and household furniture and appliances they are welcome to.

Some of the things the "TEENS" ask for are: Perfumes and body lotions, jewelry, earrings, girls socks, boys socks, disposable cameras, watches, cologne, Christian CD's & DVD's, new board games, AA and AAA batteries, gift cards to movies, fast food and video rentals.

Ok, you got it?

Dudes & Dudettes,

Well a lot has happened since we last spoke. We went on that little tour and played some great shows and met some great people. Last week the other Rocketboys and I took a little trip to Music City USA (Nashville, TN) to play a private showcase for EMICredential Records and they loved us and we had a great time. Whatever happens, we've made some good connections for the future. I feel like I have many things to say, but I don't know what they are. School is about to start the the Sleeping Giant down the street from my house is about to awaken. It'll be strange not eating in the World Famous Bean Sprout or sitting amongst other people like myself taking notes and listening to lectures. I have been thinking a lot about my life lately and how I want it to be awesome. I guess I just want my life to be worth something when it's all said and done. If anyone has any suggestions just let me know.
